After living in Berlin, Paris, Buenos Aires, Bogota and now Cork, Typhanie Scognamiglio as Jakelyn St Jak is a self proclaimed “constant stranger”, observing cities dynamics.
With a Master degree in political and urban anthropology from the Institute of European Studies / Paris 8, Jakelyn St Jak left the ranks of the academy to develop an hybrid form between art and anthropology. An artistic proposal that springs from urban life, a field of research that evolves into a work of art.
Jakelyn St Jak is a pluridisciplinar artist, writing drama, directing, painting and purposing visual installations. The real challenge stays the same : to compose a poetic work reflecting problematics and identities of a territory.
Jakelyn St Jak is in residence in Camden Palace Hotel since February 2013. She gives acting classes each Monday at 7pm until June. There are still places available.
