Would you like a film with your tea?

Right at the heart of Camden Palace Hotel sits our theatre, a bare brick-walled former warehouse. Painted black for optimum viewing. Complete with authentic old-school cinema seating. The Camden Palace Screening Club has been going for nearly three years now, starting up at a time when the city was without a cultural cinema. There's been a few different people at the helm over that time, but one thing has always remained and that is our ambition to show thought-provoking arthouse film from all around the world.

To freshen things up for 2013, we restyled the screening club as cinéastea - a film event for lovers of cinema in a relaxed and social environment - and not only that we're now switching days from our usual Thursday nights to Tuesday.

So, y'know, we want to celebrate... and we want you to come along too!

On Tuesday 14 May we will officially launch Cinéastea and kick off our 12 week summer programme. We are keeping our opening film a secret for now but over the course of the next three months we hope to bring a few new film exclusives to Cork, plus a themed mini-season and lots more.

Do come and join us on the 14th, we'll start with a wine reception, we'll keep you going with popcorn and homemade cake and before you leave you'll have to give us your very own star rating.

SHANANIGANS
9th and 10th of May

Picture
If you want a good laugh this week join us for
our fundraising event next Thursday and Friday evening at 8pm.
'Shananigans' is a series of 9 short original comedy sketches
written and performed by Marion Stout, Olivia Sheenan and Livy O'Riordan.
You pay by donation and all proceeds are to fund raise for Camden Palace Hotel as we are not in receipt of any funding whatsoever
and need your support to continue supporting the arts in Cork.

FEB 3rd 2013

Next Bodypainting event is Sunday February 3rd. As always you need to mail [email protected]. This is very different to the World Record where each artist has one model and has several hours to paint a design of their choice. We need equal numbers for the event to work so you may be out on a waiting list should the numbers not match up. Looking forward to another great jam!
