Fundraiser for Somalia

An evening of dance, music, face-painting, and drumming. Acrobatics, puppetry, and clown performances for children. Entry is free and there will be a raffle with plenty of prizes! Organised by Somali Human Rights Advocacy Group, proceeds to Trocaire. All to raise funds for Somalian food crisis. Share the invitation and bring your friends! Craic 6 – 9pm Friday 4th Nov.

The Third Policeman

Flann O'Brien's The Third Policeman, the underground classic that means a lot to a lot of people, is being narrated by actor Justin Scannell with live improvised sound design by Francis Heery and Harry Moore in keeping with the great tradition of storytelling in Camden Palace Hotel. A special chance for audiences to lose themselves in Flann O'Brien's imagination in the imaginative art centre. There is even a hybrid bicycle wheel amongst the handmade instruments and laptop to create a soundscape echoing the surreality, humour, darkness and hallucinatory quality of this perplexing literary work. Set to be a fascinating wander for audience and performers alike through Flann O'Brien's strange and haunting take on rural Ireland.

3pm - 4.30pm over 5 consecutive Sat afternoons beginning 24th Sept.

This September Cork receives some of the most distinguished international names in Capoeira, including the respected Master Vulcao

Sat 3 Sept Cork City centre rises with samba and maracatu rhythm with live music run by several internationally renowned teachers. 2pm a charity show with music, dance & theatre in Camden Palace Hotel. Admission: donations required ie food, clothes, blankets.  Dance and live music performances on St. Patrick’s Street throughout the day and night.

The Brute and A Marriage Proposal

Anton Chekhov describes his early comedies A Marriage Proposal and The Brute as one act jokes, others have described them as minor masterpieces. Maria O'Callaghan, Kieran O'Leary and Rupert Stutchbury will perform these two short farces lasting about 35 minutes each in Clonakilty, Skibbereen and finally in Cork at the Camden.

St Rapheal’s Centre Youghal is a residential centre for older people with learning disabilities, working through drama and performance, this short 25 minute film was made with the residents.
