The Darkroom is available for processing and printing your own black and white 35mm and medium format traditional process negatives, we also now have the MOD54 system for 4×5 sheet film.
To work in the Darkroom is essential that you have previous experience and are familiar with the darkroom equipment and safety procedures, beginners please see below.
Experienced Darkroom users:Black & white 35mm or medium format printing:
3 hour printing session €12
Saturday printing session 11 – 5pm €23
Process your own black and white film (non c41) -
35mm & 120 roll – €3 per roll
negative sheets – €0.25

Beginners 4 week class €100:For those refreshing skills or getting started with the basics classes are run on Wednesday nights 5pm – 8pm as follows -
Week 1 - The processing room, etiquette and safety, processing your own film and handling your negatives. (It is essential to come to class with at least 2 rolls of traditional process (non c41) black and white film shot and ready to develop.) An introduction to the creative darkroom making photograms – you will construct images using man made and natural found objects.
Week 2 - Process film, darkroom safety & etiquette, cutting and storing negatives, contact sheet making and basic editing, you will make contact sheets for films processed during previous week.
Week 3 - Printing in the darkroom, working with test strips and multigrade filters to create final images from your own negatives.
Week 4 – Process film, make contact sheets or print images. Spend the class putting to work your new found skills.
note: you will need a ring binder file or suitable box for transporting and storing your negatives and images. Chemicals and paper are provided for the beginners class.
