Description:

Ever gone to a comedy club and thought, “I could do that?” Really? Now’s your chance to prove it. Work with a professional comedian and actor to develop your best 5 minute set. For the final project students will perform on “New Acts Night” at Cork Comedy Club on Oliver Plunkett St., Cork’s newest pro comedy venue! Show will feature a pro host and headliner.

Ashley Strand holds a MFA from The Academy of Classical Acting in Washington, DC. He has been performing professionally since 1996, starting as an actor, and adding stand-up comedy to his repertoire in 2005. Career highlights include appearing opposite Kelly McGillis in The Duchess of Malfi, and winning the 2009 Hong Kong Comedy Festival.
